At Melt Me Candle Co., our love for fragrance goes paw-in-paw with our love for community. That’s why we’re launching a new blog series: Local Business Spotlight — a chance to highlight the amazing organizations, makers, and entrepreneurs right here in our backyard.
And we couldn’t think of a better first feature than Raintree Jacks Jack Russell Rescue in Kershaw County, SC.
Who They Are
Founded in 2013, Raintree Jacks is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming Jack Russell Terriers. Every pup that comes through their gates receives:

Full veterinary care (vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm testing)

A safe and loving environment to decompress and heal

Training, attention, and patience while waiting for their forever homes
Their mission is simple but powerful: give every dog a chance at a fur-ever home.
More Than a Rescue
Raintree Jacks also offers The Treehouse — a cozy, dog-friendly stay right next to the rescue. Out-of-town adopters and volunteers can use it as a home base, while proceeds directly support the rescue’s daily operations. Think hammocks, porches, and plenty of space for pups to play — it’s a true hidden gem in Kershaw County.

Why This Matters to Me
If you know me, you know I’ve never met a dog I didn’t instantly fall in love with. My heart belongs to animals just as much as it belongs to fragrance. Supporting a local rescue like Raintree Jacks feels like the perfect way to merge those loves.
